During Climate Week in New York City, WECAN held a virtual public event on September 26, 2024, titled “Transforming Global Economies: From Extraction to Regeneration in a Just Transition.”

Global women leaders shared insights on a Just Transition and innovative economic models, including community-led initiatives, feminist economics, Indigenous wisdom, and traditional practices of reciprocity with the Earth. This dynamic discussion highlighted a clear path to a thriving, socially just, and ecologically enriching future for all.

At COP 15 in Copenhagen, Hub Culture journalist Edie Lush interviewed Sarah Severn, Nike's Director of Stakeholder Partnerships. Severn discussed the current progress of climate legislation within the United States.

She also highlighted the BICEP partnership, a coalition of 17 global companies actively advocating for comprehensive climate change legislation.

From June 14-16, 2023, Portugal hosted the Global Exploration Summit (GLEX Summit) in the Azores. Co-organized by The Explorers Club and Expanding World, the summit brought together leading explorers to showcase discoveries, innovative solutions, and technology for exploring our planet, oceans, and space.

Among the presenters was Andrew Revkin, a lauded journalist with 40 years dedicated to the sustainability beat. Known for his innovative reporting from the Amazon to the Arctic, Revkin presented on "The Scariest Climate Science."

Elder Dave Courchene (Nii Gaani Aki Inini – Leading Earth Man) presented "The Hope for Humanity – Preparing for a New Earth" at a 2018 meeting in Winnipeg. He emphasized that separateness and materialism contribute to a society plagued by fear, anger, and depression.

Professor Stefan Rahmstorf recently delivered a compelling lecture titled "Why the Ocean is Important to Everyone."

Now, in *Speed & Scale: An Action Plan for Solving Our Climate Crisis Now*, Doerr and Kleiner Perkins advisor Ryan Panchadsaram argue that the same management tools can be applied to prevent the growing climate crisis.

At UNFCCC COP25 on December 4, 2019, C2G and leading experts called for urgent global discussions to address governance gaps in CO2 removal.

Claire Fyson, a Research Analyst at Climate Analytics and co-author of "Governing Large-scale Carbon Dioxide Removal: Are We Ready?", highlighted specific governance challenges related to large-scale CO2 removal, using Bio-energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) as an example.
